Question: How do you interpret the Bible verse Luke 11:52?
Jesus was talking to Jews only; as the current definition of “Lawyers” relates to Statute and Common Law in the Country of domicile these days!
It refers to the “Learned men” of the Jews!
They were/are verses in the writings of many Rabbi’s over centuries of opinion from what we call the Old Testament!
At the present time, in Israel and with “diaspora Jews” who consider themselves as “Orthodox”; their “Biblical lawyers” are in high standing.
The “Orthodox” teachings are developed from the Pharisees of Jesus’ day!
